Dear Community,

I am Maira, one of the members and generators of the El Cambalache collective. I wanted to share with you and update you on how our project is progressing and the difficulties we are going through. We are still in danger of eviction and we are still in the process of fund raising in order to be able to buy our home (where our project was born 8 years ago). On the other hand, I would like to inform you that the seminar «Our Collective Economies», which we hold on Thursdays from 11am.-1pm. CST, will be postponed until September due to health reasons of some of our colleagues.

We are promoting our online workshop «Make your own non-capitalist economy» (Here is the link with the information: https://cambalache.noblogs.org/post/2022/07/20/workshop-online-sep-2022-taller-en-linea-sept-2022/) that will begin in September, for which the call for participants has been extended until full capacity is reached. This workshop helps us to raise funds and continue to make our work visible.

Every week we continue opening the space, exchanging, sharing and learning. One of the things I value most about this space is sharing experiences and resisting capitalism with other forms of moneyless economies. I thank each person who comes to the space and makes it possible to generate a community of solidarity and mutual aid. Generating networks is beautiful, it helps us to be more and more autonomous.

I would like to ask you to share your work with us in our seminars, workshops, and through networks that you might participate in. These experiences, from the different territories in which we find ourselves, create a world where the welfare of those who inhabit it (humans, plants, animals, water, land, etc.) are valued. Finally, I don’t want to say goodbye without first updating you on the fund raising we are doing: we have 11 sponsors on Patreon, 170 donations on GoFundMe and more than 758 signatures on Change.org; thank you for your solidarity and support, we hope to stay connected with you.

Querida comunidad,

Soy Maira, una de las integrantes y generadoras de la colectiva El Cambalache. Quería compartirles y actualizarles sobre como va caminando nuestro proyecto y las dificultades que nos atraviesan. Aún estamos en peligro de desalojo y seguimos en el proceso de fondeo, con el objetivo de poder comprar nuestra casita (donde  nació hace 8 años nuestro proyecto). Por otra parte, les comento que el seminario  “Nuestras Economías Colectivas”, que realizamos los días jueves de 11am.-1pm. CST., se pospone hasta septiembre por motivos de salud de varias de nuestras compañeras. Les dejamos el enlace con la plática del último seminario que tuvimos (https://youtu.be/RfYujoGf7KE).

También, estamos con la difusión de nuestro taller en línea “Haz tu propia economía no capitalista” (Aquí el enlace con la información: https://cambalache.noblogs.org/post/2022/07/20/workshop-online-sep-2022-taller-en-linea-sept-2022/) que iniciará en septiembre, para el cual se amplía la convocatoria hasta llenar cupos. Con éste taller pretendemos  recaudar fondos y seguir visibilizando nuestro trabajo. Como todas las semanas continuamos abriendo el espacio, realizando intercambios, compartiendo y aprendiendo. Una de las cosas que más valoro de este espacio es el compartir experiencias y resistir ante el capitalismo con otras formas de economías sin dinero. Agradezco a cada persona que llega al espacio y hace posible que se genere una comunidad solidaria y de apoyo mutuo. Es muy bonito generar redes, esto nos ayuda a ser cada vez mas autónomas y autogestivas.
Quiero dejarles invitadaoes a compartir con nosotras en los diversos espacios, seminarios, talleres, por redes, etc. Y que podamos compartir experiencias desde los distintos territorios en que nos encontramos luchando por un mundo pensado en el bienestar de quienes lo habitamos (humanes, plantitas, animales, agua, tierra, etc.).
